About the Role

As a Boiler Attendant, you’ll play an important role in operating and monitoring the Power Station and associated plant. You’ll complete routine plant checks, maintain accurate logs, carry out sampling and reporting, and support day-to-day operational activities to keep the station running safely and reliably.

You’ll also work closely with our operations and maintenance teams, assisting with housekeeping, chemical control, inventory management and other operational or maintenance activities as required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate and monitor boilers and associated plant to maintain reliable station performance
  • Complete routine plant inspections, checks, sampling, log keeping and reporting
  • Follow operating procedures, safety standards and site requirements
  • Support chemical control, inventory management and safe handling of consumables
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency and work practices
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the work area
  • Communicate effectively with the shift team and provide clear shift handovers
  • Report hazards, incidents, near misses and equipment defects promptly
  • Participate in emergency response and safe systems of work
  • Complete required training and development to progress your Boiler Attendant competencies

About You

We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in process, water treatment, boiler or industrial plant operations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in how industrial plant and equipment operates
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound numeracy and computer literacy
  • The ability to use initiative and make sound decisions while working within a shift environment
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
  • A current NZ Class 1 Driver Licence

You’ll also need to be willing and able to undertake the relevant Boiler Attendant operator training and energy/chemical operations qualifications required for the role.

This is an opportunity to build your skills and develop a long-term career within one of New Zealand’s largest industrial operations. You’ll receive structured training and development while gaining valuable experience in power generation, boiler and process plant operations.

If you’re looking for a role where you can get hands-on, develop your technical skills and be part of a team that keeps a major industrial operation running, we’d love to hear from you.
