  • Monitor and optimise boiler, turbine and auxiliary plant performance to maximise reliability, efficiency and availability.
  • Analyse operational data, identify improvement opportunities and lead investigations into operational issues.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for boiler and turbine operations, providing technical advice during faults, abnormal events and operational challenges.
  • Support planned shutdowns, commissioning, start-ups and major plant events.

  • Manage operator training, competency and qualification requirements, including coaching and mentoring operators.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation, Projects, Asset Management and HSE teams.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant statutory requirements, operational procedures and electricity market obligations.
  • Identify and implement initiatives that improve plant reliability, efficiency, safety and environmental performance.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for someone with strong technical capability and operational experience who can confidently work across a complex industrial environment.

You will have:

  • A relevant Engineering Degree.
  • Engineering experience in a power generation, utilities, process or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of boiler, turbine and associated plant operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyse plant performance and operational data.
  • Experience supporting maintenance, shutdowns, commissioning or plant improvement activities.
  • A strong understanding of operational safety, risk management and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.
  • The confidence to provide technical leadership, coach others and make sound operational decisions.

Why This Opportunity?
