Cold Mill Operator
New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.
We have a permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable Operator to join our Cold Strip Mill team at NZ Steel, Glenbrook.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do. As an Operator, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe workplace for yourself and your team, while helping us maintain the high standards of quality and performance our customers expect.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for safely operating plant and equipment within the Cold Mill area, supporting smooth day-to-day operations and ensuring our products meet the required quality standards. Full training will be provided, so you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and build your knowledge of the operation.
This is a 42-hour per week role working a rotating 12-hour, 4-shift roster, with additional hours occasionally required to meet operational needs.

What you’ll bring
You don’t need to have previous experience in a steel mill environment. We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a team where safety and quality come first.
