About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Fitter Welder to join the Central Mechanical Workshops team based at Glenbrook.

Reporting to the Central Mechanical Workshops Team Leader, the primary accountability of this position is the repair and maintenance of operational plant and equipment throughout the plants.

You will also support mechanical work on a breakdown basis and complete preventative maintenance inspections and improvement projects.

This is a permanent role.

Hours of Work

This is an 8-hour day position working Monday to Friday; however, applicants should be aware that some overtime and call-out work may be necessary.

Along with the ability to learn the required skills on the job and produce high-quality work in a timely manner, the successful applicant will have;

  • a strong team focus while also being comfortable working on your own.
  • great communication skills – verbal and written.
  • analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • positive attitude, ability and willingness to take ownership of your work.
  • proven good attendance and work history.
  • welding experience in Medium or Heavy is a bonus.

To be considered for this role you must have a relevant Trade Certificate and have a strong work ethic along with the ability to produce high quality work.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork along with a willingness to positively contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment and an uncompromising attitude towards health and safety.
