Electrical Reliability Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our Rolling Mills Maintenance team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical electrical assets, solve complex engineering challenges, and make a real impact on plant reliability within a large-scale heavy industrial environment.

Reporting to the Rolling Mill Maintenance Superintendent, you'll work closely with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to develop reliability strategies, improve equipment performance and support the safe, efficient operation of our Rolling Mills.

What you'll be doing

As the Electrical Reliability Engineer, you'll be responsible for improving the reliability and performance of a wide range of electrical and control systems across the Rolling Mills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing maintenance and reliability strategies for critical plant equipment
• Investigating equipment failures using structured root cause analysis and implementing sustainable engineering solutions
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability, reduce downtime and optimise asset performance
• Providing technical leadership and support during complex breakdowns and planned maintenance activities
• Identifying critical spare parts requirements and optimising inventory to support plant availability
• Supporting maintenance planning and shutdown activities where required
• Working collaboratively with operations, tradespeople and contractors to deliver safe and reliable outcomes

About you

You're an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and using data to improve equipment performance. You build strong working relationships, communicate effectively with people at all levels, and are passionate about continuous improvement and safe work practices.

You'll also bring:

• A qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in reliability, maintenance or asset management within heavy industry, manufacturing, mining or a similar industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and failure analysis
• Experience working with industrial electrical systems, automation and control systems
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ideally Maximo
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, collaborative approach with a strong commitment to safety
