About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter Welder to join the Rolling Mills Maintenance team based at New Zealand Steel in Glenbrook. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Engineer, the primary accountability of this position is the repair and maintenance of operational plant and equipment throughout the Rolling Mills.

Hours of work

This is a shift position. Applicants will initially train on days however some overtime and call out work may be necessary.

About the person

To be considered for this role you must have a full Mechanical Trade Certificate and have a strong work ethic along with the ability to produce high quality work.

Along with the ability to problem solve and produce high quality work in a timely manner, the successful applicant will have;

  •  A Trade Cert (Mechanical)
  •  a strong team focus while also being comfortable working on your own
  •  great communication skills – verbal and written
  •  excellent computer literacy
  •  analytical and decision-making skills
  •  a positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of your work
  •  proven good attendance and work history
  •  welding experience

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork along with a willingness to positively contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment and an uncompromising attitude towards health and safety.
