New Zealand Steel is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team. This is a varied role where you’ll work across our well-known brands, marketing campaigns, product launches, corporate communications and events – bringing creative ideas to life across digital, print and physical environments.

About the role

As our Graphic Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating high-quality, on-brand visual assets across a wide range of channels. You’ll work closely with the Marketing team and internal stakeholders, as well as external creative agencies, printers and event suppliers.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across:

• Digital and print collateral including brochures, POS, trade marketing materials
• Social media, digital advertising, email and web assets
• Magazine and TV campaign advertising
• Exhibition and trade show stands
• Event signage, branded spaces and large-format graphics
• Vehicle wraps and other environmental design
• Major events including awards evenings, customer events, product launches and celebrations
• Maintaining and evolving our brand style guides and visual identity

You’ll also help manage the practical side of projects, including timelines, suppliers, quoting, budgeting and delivery, ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high standard.

About you

We’re looking for a creative and organised designer who can confidently take a project from concept through to completion.

You’ll bring:

• NCEA Level 3 or an international equivalent
• Graphic Design qualification preferred
• Around 5 years’ experience in graphic design, ideally within a brand or agency environment – or demonstrable design experience
• Experience across both digital and print production
• Experience in event or environmental design, such as exhibition stands, event signage, branded spaces, large-format graphics or vehicle wraps
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• A strong understanding of layout, typography and brand systems
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
