Inventory Analyst


New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors.  You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.

Are you ready to make an impact in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Inventory Analyst to join our Supply Chain Team at New Zealand Steel on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About the role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive their products on time, every time. You’ll be responsible for managing and optimising inventory processes, driving improvements, and supporting the smooth delivery of steel products to our customers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading Supply Chain inventory processes including DIFOT, Downgrade, Steel Imports, and Short Leadtime Management.
  • Managing aged inventory reconciliations and reporting.
  • Maintaining and improving inventory plans to maximise value and service levels.

About you
You’ll bring a strong customer focus, great communication skills, and a commitment to safety in everything you do. You’ll be a team player with a positive outlook, sharp attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in inventory management within manufacturing or FMCG environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • The ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 and Power BI Reporting (an advantage).
  • An understanding of Class A principles for delivering service excellence (preferred).
