Ironmaking Supervisors x2

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.  You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand

We are seeking two Supervisors to join the Ironmaking Team on a 6-month fixed-term basis. If you have the skills to lead a high-performing team, enjoy engaging with people at all levels, and thrive in a dynamic work environment, this role is for you!

About the Role:

As a Supervisor, you will report to the Kilns Superintendent and be responsible for planning and directing shift operations to produce high-quality products while driving continuous improvement in your production area.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•   Lead and collaborate with teams
•   Promote a zero-harm environment and actively participate in Health & Safety initiatives
•   Implement best practices to enhance cost efficiency, product quality, and service delivery

This permanent position has a standard workweek of 42 hours (12-hour shifts on a 4-shift rotating pattern). Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.

•   Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in steelmaking

•   Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
