Light Plate Line Operator

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.  You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.

About the Role

Join our Light Plate Line team in the Metal Coating Plant and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly. You’ll be involved in packing, line operations, forklift work, and product dispatch. 

Full training will be provided to safely operate plant and equipment.

This is a permanent full-time role, averaging 42 hours per week on a Monday–Friday, 12-hour rotating shift pattern. Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.

Your key qualities will include:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and ownership of your work
• Reliable work history and excellent attendance
• Proficient computer skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Commitment to safety, with a strong understanding of procedures and processes
