We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Planner/Scheduler to join our Rolling Mills team.

What you will be doing

As the Mechanical Planner/Scheduler, you will play a key role in improving maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability by planning and scheduling mechanical maintenance activities. Your focus will be on anticipating and eliminating potential delays, maximising productive tool time, minimising equipment downtime, and supporting cost-effective maintenance delivery.

Working closely with the PME, Trades teams, Technicians and other key stakeholders, you will develop detailed work plans, coordinate resources and materials, and ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What will you bring to the role

To support our continued success, we are looking for someone with a strong mechanical maintenance background and experience in planning and scheduling maintenance activities. You will be highly organised, proactive and able to build effective working relationships across the maintenance team.

In addition, you will bring:

  • A mechanical trade qualification, relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling and estimating processes, ideally within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, including maintenance planning and work management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with maintenance systems and spreadsheets.
  • A sound mechanical understanding, enabling you to develop accurate and effective maintenance work plans.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with Trades teams, Technicians and PMEs to coordinate and prioritise work.
  • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good problem-solving ability and sound decision-making skills.
You will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement while contributing positively to a diverse and inclusive work environment.

The safety of our people is at the core of everything we do. A strong commitment to health and safety, along with an uncompromising approach to safe work practices, is essential for success in this role.
