Mechanical Testing Technician (fixed term)

About the role

We are currently seeking applications for a Mechanical Testing Technician in the Product Metallurgy Department, for a fixed term of 3 months. Reporting to the Mechanical Testing Supervisor, the primary accountability of this position is the collection, preparation and testing of steel pieces for quality control purposes in an accredited testing facility.

The 4-person team operates on a rotating day shift roster, of 4 x 10-hour days. This includes 1 Sunday per month.  Occasional overtime may be undertaken as required by the department.

About the person

To be successful in this role, you will have an uncompromising attitude to safety, an understanding of scientific and mathematical information and/or mechanical workshop or laboratory type experience, along with good communication skills and the ability to process data accurately. You will also hold a current full driver’s licence, be a team player but have the ability to work unsupervised when necessary.
