Payroll Officer
New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.
What you will be doing
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Payroll Team at New Zealand Steel in Glenbrook on a 12-month fixed-term contract, this role will suit someone who is organised, proactive, thrives in a collaborative setting and takes pride in accuracy.
While reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you’ll be part of a fun, hardworking, and supportive team that prides itself on delivering accurate and timely payroll services, you’ll play a key part in managing six major payrolls for New Zealand Steel and Pacific Steel and will assist with payroll-related invoices and employee recognition processes.
While working closely with our People & Payroll colleagues and external payroll provider, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing payroll and generating reports
- Maintaining employee files
- Supporting other payroll-related tasks
- Contributing to our upcoming and exciting Time & Attendance implementation project
- Processing invoices in our SAP system
What you will bring to the role
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll
- Experience with NZ payroll platforms is preferred (training will be provided if needed)
- Strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude
