Product Design and Quality System Engineer

What you will be doing

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, your role will be to ensure product technical designs are created in a timely and professional manner to meet the demands of our internal and external customers.

As part of the quality assurance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the product technical design systems. This includes setting up and maintaining product design data including route steps, BOMs, operational specifications, chemistry, mechanical and other testing requirements. 

You will be responsible to provide sound technical design support based on analysis of data while supporting the team on compliance and accreditation measures, including conformity to the relevant product standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3678, AS 1397, ASTM A572, etc.)

What you will bring to the role

Along with your positive attitude and drive for success you will need to hold a relevant Engineering or Science Degree and have a sound understanding of quality procedures gained through previous work experience. Knowledge of products and processes covering metallurgical and process steps will be advantageous. 

Along with the above you will need to have:

  • An uncompromising attitude to safety
  • Competent in computer use, especially Microsoft office, knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic D365 is an advantage. 
  • An understanding of production sequencing and process flows
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Experience in undertaking technical administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to process data accurately. 
  • A team player 
  • Can work with multiple priorities and be able to pick up tasks from others and support the wider team.
