Registered Electrician

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.  You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL® brand.

What you will be doing

We’re looking for an Electrical Tradesperson to join our Rolling Mills maintenance team for a 12-month fixed term. Be part of a business with a strong reputation for excellence and support the repair, maintenance, and optimisation of operational equipment across our Rolling Mills plants.

You’ll be working within a well-established, supportive team that prides itself on delivering innovative solutions and consistently high-quality outcomes.

What you will bring to the role

Along with a positive attitude, a commitment to producing high quality work, and a willingness to learn on the job, the successful candidate will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a medium or heavy industrial environment
• Registered Electrician with a current practising licence
• Strong team focus, while also being confident working independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer literacy, analytical ability, and sound decision-making skills
• Proven reliability, good attendance, and a solid work history
• Instrumentation experience (advantageous but not essential)

This role is typically Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is required as occasional extended hours may be needed during shutdowns, breakdown support, or callouts.
