Partner with leaders on important people matters and help shape consistent, practical HR and ER practice across the business.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced HR practitioner with strong employment relations capability who is confident working in a busy environment where good judgement matters.

This is a hands-on role working closely with leaders to manage a wide range of HR and ER matters, including complex and sensitive issues. You’ll provide practical advice, coach leaders through difficult situations, and help ensure people matters are managed consistently, fairly, and in line with company policy and employment law.

You’ll take the lead on key ER matters, support change and organisational initiatives, contribute to collective bargaining activity, and help strengthen leadership capability and people practices across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with leaders to provide trusted, practical HR and ER advice 
• Lead ER matters, including personal grievances, disciplinary processes, investigations, performance management, and change processes 
• Coach leaders to apply HR practices, policies, and processes confidently and consistently 
• Identify risks, provide clear recommendations, and support sound decision-making on people matters 
• Support restructures, organisational change, and other business initiatives 
• Contribute to union engagement and support preparation for and participation in collective bargaining 
• Help lift consistency, capability, and practical ways of working across the wider HR team 
• Step in to support team priorities and contribute where needed during busy periods

What We’re Looking For

• Strong HR and employment relations experience, with the ability to manage ER matters with a high level of independence 
• Sound knowledge of employment relations practice and employment law 
• Experience coaching leaders through difficult or more challenging people matters 
• Strong judgement, resilience, and a calm, practical approach in a high-volume environment 
• Experience working in a unionised environment and exposure to collective bargaining 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with a wide range of stakeholders 
• A collaborative approach, with a willingness to share knowledge, support others, and help build team capability
