We currently have a permanent opportunity available within the Waikato North Head Maintenance team for an experienced Electrical Planner Scheduler
About the Role
This role is based at our Waikato North Head Mine Site, located on Ghezzie Road, Otaua. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, and some overtime as required.
Reporting to the WNH Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical Planner Scheduler plays a crucial role in coordinating and preparing maintenance work. You’ll be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities from a project management perspective—establishing sequences, procuring necessary parts, and ensuring resources are available before work begins.
From time to time, this role will also provide coverage for the PME Team Leader and other Maintenance Planner Scheduler roles within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning and scheduling of plant equipment maintenance to improve reliability and performance.
- Drive cost-effective maintenance by applying best practice planning and scheduling processes.
- Contribute to business leadership by supporting a clearly aligned maintenance strategy.
- Minimise maintenance costs through careful cost control and process improvements.
- Ensure technical procedures and maintenance work meet correct standards and specifications.
We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual with a strong background in electrical or instrumentation trades. Your experience in maintenance planning and scheduling will be essential to your success in this role.
To be successful, you will need:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or an electrical trade background (dual-trade experience is a plus)
- Proven experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and estimating
- Familiarity with SAP R/3 or similar systems
- Commitment to safety procedures and standards
- Strong planning, organising, and delegation skills
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
- Advanced computer skills, including spreadsheets and planning tools
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive team environment
